What's your story?

I remember when I got my first apartment and was left to fend for myself, I left the bird's nest with a few essentials: a mattress, some throw together furniture and my one pan in which all meals were cooked. After I moved in, I looked around and wondered why it didn't feel like home. What was I missing and how could I pull it all together? Growing up, my mom was the queen of "budget luxury", or as they say "champagne taste on a beer budget". Decorating the home was about finding pieces that brought color and life to the room. Whether they were eclectic chotchkies that made a shelf look interesting or a paint color that instantly warmed a room, she always seemed to understand that a well decorated home was found in the details.

Shopping for affordable art can be a challenge. Shopping for affordable, original and hand-painted art can feel impossible. I was inspired to start TenthFloorDecor after visiting an art gallery in Soho.  The gallery filled with oil paintings I loved but could not afford. I didn't want prints or emulation paintings that would fade with time; I wanted original oil paintings that could be admired, filled with rich colors and textured brushstrokes.

Our inventory of artwork is painted on high quality canvas and each piece is individually selected to fit an array of styles and motifs. Who are the artists?

We design each piece in house, then work with a network of artists to actually paint the work.  So basically, we do the design, then we commission the work.  Each piece is a TenthFloorDecor original design, and the same design might have been painted by different artists depending on their availability.  We only carry up to 10 of each painting at a time though so these are all very rare!  The paintings on TenthFloorDecor are very affordable and you will absolutely love them on your wall.  They're very high quality, and you won't find better value for wall art anywhere.

Where is your company based?

Our office is based right in New York City.  We have a a warehouse in New Jersey and that's where our paintings are shipped from.
